John Overholt, MD

John Overholt, MD, founded Allergy & Asthma Associates of Middle Tennessee in 2001. At that time, the clinic operated out of a single office in Brentwood with only two employees. Dr. Overholt’s desire was to bring exceptional, individual care to allergic and asthmatic patients in Middle Tennessee. Since then the practice has grown to include offices stretching from Hendersonville to Columbia, but his goal has remained the same: provide the best in individualized care for each patient.

Q. “How old does my child need to be to see an allergist?”

A. Allergy problems can occur in children and adults of all ages. Very young children may develop food allergies or sensitivities to year round allergens such as dust mites. Sensitivity to seasonal allergens such as ragweed or grass and tree pollen typically does not occur until children reach age 4 or 5.
